Aims and Scope

The Open Biomarkers Journal is an Open Access journal, which publishes research articles, reviews/mini-reviews, letters and guest edited single topic issues on biomarkers in clinical, medical and pharmaceutical research. The coverage includes biomarkers of disease, new biomarkers, exposure to drugs, genetic effects and applications of biomarkers.


The Open Biomarkers Journal, a peer reviewed journal, is an important and reliable source of current information on the developments in the field. Emphasis is placed on publishing quality papers, making them freely available to researchers worldwide.

Brief Biography

Dr. Anna Maria Lavezzi, graduated in Biological Sciences and Medicine, is Associate Professor of Pathology at the Department of Biomedical, Surgical and Dental Sciences, University of Milan, Italy. She is Scientific Director of the “Lino Rossi” Research Center for the study and prevention of unexpected perinatal death and sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS), University of Milan, Italy. She is member of the International Stillbirth Alliance and has major international collaborations (as with the Center for Autonomic Medicine in Pediatrics of the Children’s Memorial Hospital, Chicago, USA; the Department of Neurosurgery and Molecular Pharmacology of the Brown University Medical School, Providence, Rhode Island, USA, and the Department of Environmental Medicine of the University of Rijeka, Croatia). She is author of many publications (over 250), mainly concerning the neuropathology of the sudden perinatal death, in international journals ad high impact factor.
